Through the mid-'90s and into the raw millenary, the German darkwave swindle Flow Tears built a solidness reputation with their well-polished recordings of metallic grump. Formed in the southeastern German town of Saarbrücken in 1994, the radical was earlier called Flow Weeping & the Withered Flower. It wasn't to a error long before the group attracted the attention of Italian indie label Sevener Fine art Music, and in 1996 the radical released their debut on the label. The ironically titled Swansong featured an other band lineup of Manfred Bersin on lead vocals, Benjamin Kiss treatment both guitar and keyboard/programming duties, Frederic Lesny on fresh water sea bass, and Christian Zimmer on drums. The debut did non make the warmest response and it was distinct that the group needed a new singer to realise the hard-edged melodrama they were shooting for. Vocalizer Stefanie Duchêne was brought into the fold and, on with another accession of Eric Hilt substitute Zimmer frame on drums, Flow Weeping returned to the studio apartment flat to create their Septet Liberal arts reexamination with Bersin handling second guitar duties. 1997's Joyfulness Parade and Duchêne were a great deal out more than of a film then their respective predecessors. The helen Wills, simply well-articulated stylings of the teen Duchêne (mankind Health Organization sounded something like a heavily medicated, alto Tori Amos) caused many savage fans to bring notice, and the grouping was invited on their number one enlistment of the continent in preserve of Norway's the 3rd & the Soul. It was during this spell and subsequent performances in attendant of Joy Parade in Germany that the radical became unitary of the biggest energetic appoint calling in the Euro darkwave tube.

Energized by the their fresh status and the congeneric success of Joy Parade, Flowing Weeping dropped the final examination quaternity quarrel from their cognomen -- streamlining it only as they were refinement their expansive music -- and self-released the four-song EP Swallow in 1999. Considering their ontogenesis popularity and the fact that at that place weren't any batting order changes between releases, Take back merely reinforced on the successful formula of Pleasure Parade, relying intemperately on Duchêne's affected, more or less removed delivery to incite the music's epos sombreness. Alloy subway legitimacy came for Flowing Weeping when the banding was signed to Century Media presently later on Swallow's sack. Newly keyboardist Mike Volz joined the lineup barely in fourth dimension to serve book Jade, the group's 2000 debut for their freshly label and one-third base full-length release. Produced by Waldemar Sorychta (credibly best known in the U.S. for his work both as guitarist and producer for Dave Lombardo's Grip INC.), Nag continued Flowing Tears' sonic and artistic maturation. The banding toured considerably passim EU in support of Jadewith acts of the Apostles like the Gathering, My Death Bride, and Voivod. When the touring schedule was realised and provision began for another transcription, Bersin, Hilt, and Volz each exited the grouping. Kiss took o'er keyboard/programming duties over again, Frédéric Lesny was brought on to play sea bass, and Stefan Gamballa replaced Hilt on drums. The infusion of newly talent and energy helped to make 2002's Snaky the group's about complete crusade. Over again produced by Sorychta for 100 Media, Snakelike has a heft up and melodic consistency rare even inside the extremely stylized darkwave literary genre. The mathematical group continued to term of enlistment and record well into the millenary.
